Chroot Repair

A software update to the system can break the chroot that allows Linux to operate correctly alongside Chrome OS. To fix this, you will need to perform a chroot repair using the Crouton installation script.

  1. From Chrome OS, press the Ctrl+Alt+T keys. A Crosh terminal window will open in the Chrome browser.
  2. Type the following command and press Enter:
    shell
  3. Type the following command and press Enter:
    sudo sh ~/Downloads/crouton -u –n precise

This command will perform a chroot repair.
