Removing Ubuntu

If you decide you want to remove Ubuntu from your Chromebook, it is very easy to restore your Chromebook back to factory defaults, automatically removing Ubuntu and disabling Developer Mode.

  1. Reboot your Chromebook. The OS verification is OFF warning screen is displayed.

  2. Press the SPACE key. This will re-enable OS verification, disable Developer Mode, and wipe all locally stored data; make sure you have backed up everything that is important to you before taking this step!

Your Chromebook will be reset back to factory defaults.
