6. Enable Camera

If you have a Raspberry Pi camera module, you will need to enable support for it here. Enabling this option will also ensure that at least 128 MB of RAM is dedicated to the GPU.

Camera support is disabled by default.

  1. Start at the raspi-config main menu.
    Enabled Camera

    Enabled Camera

  2. Select Enabled Camera. A message asking Enable support for Raspberry Pi camera? will be displayed.

  3. Select Disable to turn off camera support (default), or Enable to turn on camera support.

Enabling this option makes the following changes to /boot/config.txt

start_x=1
gpu_mem=128
gpu_mem will only be set if the current value is less than 128 MB.

Disabling this option makes the following change to /boot/config.txt

start_x=0

  1. I’m in the process of installing UniFi on a RasPi but will go to bed now (after 1AM) and finish tomorrow. Later I want to install it on an OrangePiPC if I can.
    Thanks for the info 🙂
