Configuration

These configuration instructions are for an uncustomised installation of Windows 10.

  1. Once Windows setup has completed successfully, the following configuration screens will be displayed.
    Local Media Installation
    If you chose to provide a product key later, the following additional screen will be displayed.

    1. The It’s time to enter the product key screen will be displayed.

      If you are reinstalling Windows 10 on a computer that was previously upgraded under the free upgrade offer, you do not need to enter a product key. Instead, click Do this later, and Windows will automatically re-activate when complete.
    2. Type your product key and click  Next , or alternatively click the Do this later link located on the lower left of the screen.

    If you installed Windows 10 using Windows Deployment Services, the following additional screens will be displayed.

    1. The Hi there screen will be displayed.

    2. Select your preferred Country, App language, Keyboard layout and Time zone, and click  Next . The It’s time to enter the product key screen will be displayed.

    4. Click  Accept .

  3. Click  Use Express settings , or alternatively use the Customize settings link located on the lower left of the screen if you wish to tweak your settings.

    2. Click  Next . The Customize settings (Page 2) screen will be displayed.

    3. Click  Next .
    The Just a moment screen will be displayed momentarily.

  4. The Who owns this PC screen will be displayed.

    The remaining screens will depend on your answer as to Who owns this PC?

    My organization
    After selecting My organization as the owner of this PC and clicking Next, the Choose how you’ll connect screen will be displayed.

    You can connect Windows to your organisation in one of two ways:

    Join Azure AD
    1. Use Join Azure AD if your organisation uses Office 365 or other cloud-based business services from Microsoft.

    2. Select  Join Azure AD  and click  Continue . The Let's get you signed in screen will be displayed.

    3. Enter your Office 365 or other business service credentials and click  Sign in .

    Join a domain
    1. Use Join a domain if your organisation uses an on-site Active Directory domain. This option allows you to create a local account now, and then manually join your organisation's domain once setup is complete.

    2. Select  Join a domain  and click  Continue . The Create an account for this PC screen will be displayed.

    3. Enter the new local account details and click  Next .

    After selecting I do as the owner of this PC and clicking Next, the Make it yours screen will be displayed.

    The preferred sign in method is using a Microsoft account, however, you can alternatively still use a Local account by clicking the Skip this step link located on the lower left of the screen.

    3. Click  PIN me! . The Set up a PIN window is displayed.

    4. Enter and confirm a PIN for this device, then click  OK .

    Local account
    1. Click Skip this step located on the lower left of the screen. The Create an account for this PC screen will appear.

    2. Enter new local account details and click  Next .

  5. The Windows new user sign in sequence will be displayed.
  6. The Windows desktop is displayed.
