Windows Networking

The second step is to configure Windows Networking to share your wireless adapter with the newly created virtual network switch.

  1. Open the Windows Start Menu.

  2. Select Settings. The Settings window will be displayed.

  3. Click Network & Internet. The Network & Internet Settings window will be displayed.

  4. Select Ethernet, and the click the Change adapter options link. The Network Connections window will be displayed.

  5. Locate your Wi-Fi wireless network adapter from the list. Right-click on the adapter and select Properties from the context menu. The User Account Control window will be displayed.

  6. Click Yes to allow elevated privileges for changing Network Connections. The Wi-Fi Properties window will be displayed.

  7. Tick Allow other network user to connect through the computer’s Internet connection.
  8. From the Home networking connection drop down list, select the Virtual Switch created in Virtual Switch Manager.
  9. Click OK. The Wi-Fi Properties window will close and you will be returned to the Network Connections window.

    The state of the Wi-Fi adapter will be updated to indicate that it is now Shared.

  10. Close the Network Connections and Network & Internet windows.
