Hostname

This item allows you to set the name of your Raspberry Pi on a local network.

Please note: RFCs mandate that a hostname’s labels may contain only ASCII letters ‘a’ through ‘z’ (case-insensitive), the digits ‘0’ through ‘9’, and the hyphen.
Hostname labels cannot begin or end with a hyphen.
No other symbols, punctuation characters, or blank spaces are permitted.

The default Hostname is raspberrypi

  1. Start on the Raspberry Pi Configuration System tab.
    Raspberry Pi Configuration: System

    Raspberry Pi Configuration: System

  2. Type a new name for your Raspberry Pi into the Hostname field.

Changes won’t be saved until you click OK to exit the Raspberry Pi Configuration tool, and also requires a reboot to take effect.
