The MMmm Pi PoE Board is a simple HAT (Hardware Attached on Top) for the Raspberry Pi that provides full 802.3af Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) support, meaning your Raspberry Pi can be powered entirely from an Ethernet network cable – with no need for the Micro USB plug pack. This makes powering the Raspberry Pi far more convenient, and helps remove a constraint on placement of these devices; if you can get an Ethernet cable there, you can have a Raspberry Pi there – and have it powered!
You also need an 802.3af Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) compliant network switch or midspan injector to provide power to the network.
